Mosque carpets are the most used aspect of the mosque and there are many choices available in terms of colours, patterns, materials, suppliers. Many UK suppliers source their carpets from Turkey. We were able to contact a supplier in Turkey directly and arrange for them to visit our mosque to discuss our requirements. The Turks were very honest and helpful. They showed us colour samples and we selected a mix of 2 shades of blue in 100% wool. Most mosques choose 80% wool and 20% nylon – which is a softer carpet but not as longer lasting as 100% wool.
