Introduction

Ta’sees Study Program is a foundation level course which aims to give students a strong bases in the various Islamic sciences. Please refer to the information below for more details.

The curriculum consists of books authored by well-known scholars:

Knowledge and Manners

1. Ḥilyat Tālib al-ilm by Bakr Abu Zayd.

What is the class structure?

The study book will form the basis of the lesson. 

• Reading from the book
• Regular revision sessions.
• Verbal and written exams.
• Arabic books can be downloaded online and printed. Where possible, we will try to make the English translation available online to download or purchase.

Is the Arabic language included?

Arabic language is the key to studying the Islamic sciences. Due to time constraints, Arabic grammar for non-native speakers is not included, however there are regular Arabic classes for men and women in the Masjid which everybody is encouraged to attend.

Course Duration

We aim to finish the course in 2 Years, however it is divided into 2 levels with each level taking 1 years to complete. The 2nd level will reinforce and build on what was studied in the 1st level. The above curriculum is therefore divided into 2 levels.

Course Teacher

The course will be taught by Ustadh Abul Abbaas  – the Imam of Masjid Sunnah, and a graduate from the Faculty of Shari’ah, Islamic University of Madinah.

Course Timings

The  timings for the lessons are every Tuesday and Thursday evening inshaAllah.

The timings will change according to the Salah time during the summer/winter months.

Who is the course designed for?

The course is open to men and women, aged 15+. It is essential for the student to be consistent with their attendance, and catch up with any missed lessons.

Familiarity with the Arabic language will aid the student, however it is not a condition. 

Where are the lessons held?

All lessons will be held at Masjid Sunnah Nelson, and are open to men and women. 

Can I join mid-way?

Yes. If you have missed some parts of the course, you can still join the course midway but it is advisable that you catch up on the previous classes. 

Course Fee

The course is free, however there may be a nominal charge for the printing or ordering of any books where applicable. A free digital copy of the study books will always be made available -InshaAllah
